United Services GroupSM Supports Regional Staking Education

Las Cruces, New Mexico, September 19, 2008 - Staff from United Services GroupSM, the creators of ADELINE® staking software, were on hand to provide electronic/automated equipment training for the New Mexico Rural Electric Cooperative Association 2008 Staking School.

Located on the New Mexico State University campus, the 2008 Staking School consisted of over 30 students from New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas. The three day course was geared for beginning staking engineers, apprentice or new linemen, future staking engineers or any employees needing a better understanding of this function of the cooperative.

Each student received classroom and in the field training that included RUS specifications, loading criteria, clearances, and all other necessary information required for distribution line design. Fields labs were conducted utilizing conventional surveying equipment and automated staking.

Students were given hands on exposure to the functionality that ADELINE® brings to staking. Demonstrated on handheld devices with GPS, ADELINE® was used to recreate a previous lab that was done manually illustrating the increased productivity and elimination of error that automated staking can provide.
